Skylar Clement has three years of work experience. In 2019, they began working as a Material Development Engineer for Natural Fiber Welding, where they are responsible for the development of new Mirum compounds/formulations to meet customer driven goals and performance expectations, as well as the scale up of R&D operations to production levels. In 2017, Skylar began working as an EMT-B at Illinois State University, where they worked as a team to provide exceptional patient care in a clean and confidential environment. From 2015 to 2017, Skylar worked at OSF HealthCare as a Rehabilitation Technician and Retail Team Member/Coffee Shop. As a Rehabilitation Technician, they were responsible for helping therapists gather supplies needed to rehabilitate patients, assisting in keeping accurate documentation about patients that require therapy, and maintaining clean assistive devices and a clean area for therapy to be completed in. As a Retail Team Member/Coffee Shop, they stocked food and beverage merchandise, assisted patrons of the hospital with finding gifts/ floral arrangements for patients, and prepared food/beverages for mission partners, patients, and patient family members.

Skylar Clement obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Illinois State University between 2016 and 2019. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate of Science in Chemistry from Illinois Central College between 2014 and 2016. Additionally, they obtained an Emergency Medical Technician Basic certification from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) in August 2016 and a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association.
