Tharaka Abeynanda

Tharaka Abeynanda is a seasoned professional with substantial expertise in risk management and strategic advisory roles. Currently serving as a Strategic Advisor - Risk & Financing at Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tū Ake since June 2019, Tharaka has previously held key positions such as Manager - Risk and Compliance and Deputy General Manager – Enterprise Risk Management at Continental Insurance Lanka Ltd. There, Tharaka represented the Executive Committee, overseeing enterprise risk and corporate strategy. Tharaka's extensive experience also includes significant roles at AIA Insurance Lanka PLC, focusing on enterprise and financial risk management, and project management for financial reporting controls. Earlier career experiences include a managerial position at LOLC and training at Bank of Ceylon. Tharaka holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Kelaniya and is a member of The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
