Daniel Rath

Agricultural Soil Carbon Scientist at Natural Resources Defense Council

Daniel Rath has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Daniel is currently working as an Agricultural Soil Carbon Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) since 2022. Prior to this, Daniel worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis from 2016 to 2022.

Before joining UC Davis, Daniel was a Graduate Student Researcher at The University of Edinburgh from 2014 to 2015. Daniel also has experience as an Assistant Manager at Pelican Beach Resort from 2012 to 2014, where they were responsible for coordinating a waitstaff and managing inventory. Daniel also worked as a Project Coordinator at Mana Organics / Chota Tingrai Tea Estate from 2011 to 2012.

In addition, Daniel has worked as a Naturalist Intern at Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm in 2010 and as a Resident Assistant at Carleton College from 2008 to 2010.

Daniel Rath completed their education in a chronological order. Daniel first attended Stann Creek Ecumenical Junior College from 2005 to 2007, where they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Environmental Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science. Following this, from 2007 to 2010, they studied at Carleton College and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Afterwards, Rath pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Soil Sciences at The University of Edinburgh from 2014 to 2015. Lastly, they attended the University of California, Davis from 2016 to 2021, where they completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Soil and Biogeochemistry.
