Senior Vice President For Climate And Energy at Natural Resources Defense Council

Jacqueline Wong has extensive work experience in the field of energy and climate change policy. Jacqueline started their career as a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs in 2003, where they created trading resources and developed a database for emerging market currencies. Jacqueline then worked as an Analyst at Sankaty Advisors in Bain Capital, where they co-managed a portfolio of 30 companies and determined investment decisions based on various factors.

In 2006, Wong joined McKinsey & Company as a Business Analyst, where they gained experience in data analysis and management. Jacqueline later joined the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) as a Welch Fellow in 2008, managing external consultant teams and modeling the effects of federal cap-and-trade legislation on the U.S. economy.

Wong then worked at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as a Special Assistant in the Office of Policy & International Affairs from 2010 to 2012. Jacqueline developed and implemented international initiatives to promote energy efficiency and cool roofs policies in cooperation with government officials and stakeholders.

In 2013, Wong had two internship positions. First, as a Graduate Intern at PSEG, they gained valuable experience in the energy sector. Then, at the U.S. House of Representatives, they worked as a Graduate Intern on the Energy and Commerce Committee, where they contributed to a report on clean energy finance opportunities and provided support for hearings and mark-ups.

Wong's career in policy continued at The White House, where they held positions as a Senior Policy Analyst and Senior Policy Advisor for Energy and Climate Change in the Domestic Policy Council. In these roles, they led efforts to phase down HFCs under the Montreal Protocol and reform the federal coal program.

Their most recent position, starting in 2017, is at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) as the Director of Federal Regulatory Policy in the Climate & Clean Energy Program. In this role, they lead efforts to develop recommendations for federal climate actions across major sectors and coordinates with national environmental groups on legislative priorities.

Jacqueline Wong pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and English from Yale University, graduating in 2004. Following their undergraduate studies, they went on to pursue a Master in Public Affairs degree from Princeton University, specializing in Economics and Public Policy. Jacqueline completed their master's program in 2014.
