Kayla Calkin

Kayla Calkin has a diverse work experience in the political and environmental advocacy sectors. Kayla is currently serving as the Federal Campaigns Director at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), where they manage a team and oversees a budget of over $5 million. In this role, they develop and executes federal advocacy campaigns and coordinates various departments to ensure a cohesive campaign strategy.

Prior to their current position, Kayla worked as a Freelance Writer at BookRags, Inc., where they authored teacher study guides and provided advice on engaging students and advertising novels. Kayla also served as the Political Director at NRDC Action Fund, where they were responsible for creating and executing coordinated campaign plans and providing guidance on environmental policy issues to candidates.

Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy and Women's Studies at The George Washington University from 2009 to 2011.
