khalil shahyd is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, teaching a graduate level course on Public Policy and Environment. Previously, khalil worked as the Managing Director of Environmental and Equity Strategies at the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and held roles such as Senior Policy Advocate, Project Manager, and Partnerships Manager in the Urban Solutions Program. khalil also worked as a Consultant on Climate Change Risk Assessment projects for the Gulf Coast Fund for Community Renewal and Ecological Health. With a PhD in Political Ecology and Economic Geography from the University of Delaware and a Master's degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University, khalil has a strong educational background in environmental policy and sustainable development.
