Daniel S.

Daniel S. has extensive work experience in the field of bioinformatics and genomics. Daniel most recently worked as the Head of Bioinformatics and Data at NatureMetrics starting in October 2021. Prior to that, they served as the NGS Services Manager at NCIMB Ltd from October 2017 to October 2021, where they were responsible for developing and delivering NGS and bioinformatics products and services. Daniel also worked as the Director of Genome Enterprise Limited from July 2015 to August 2017.

Earlier in their career, Daniel held positions such as the Head of Platforms and Pipelines at Earlham Institute from March 2015 to August 2017, where they oversaw genomics, synthetic biology, and bioinformatics service delivery. Daniel also worked as the Head of NGS Analysis at Oxford Gene Technology from July 2011 to March 2015, where they were responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality genomics information and analysis.

Daniel's experience also includes managing the Bioinformatics Support Unit at Newcastle University from January 2005 to July 2011, where they provided bioinformatics analysis services. Additionally, they worked as a Bio-Linux Developer and Bioinformatician at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology from January 2003 to January 2005, and as a Bioinformatician at Bart's and the London Genome Centre from January 2001 to January 2003.

Early in their career, Daniel worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Edinburgh University from June 1999 to January 2001. Overall, Daniel S. has demonstrated expertise in bioinformatics, genomics, and NGS analysis throughout their career.

Daniel S. completed their education with a BSc(Hons) degree in Genetics with Industrial Experience from The University of Manchester, which they attended from 1991 to 1995. Following this, they pursued a PhD in Developmental Biology at Imperial College London, completing their studies from 1995 to 1999.
