May Mei (Guiying)

May (Guiying) Mei is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in various roles within the field of agricultural and biomedical research. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at NatureMetrics since April 2022, Mei also works as a Research and Development Scientist at Precision Biomonitoring Inc. since May 2019. Prior positions include Laboratory Technician roles at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where tasks involved RNA extraction and cell culture, as well as a Research Associate position at the University of Guelph, focusing on CRISPR/Cas9 and fermentation analysis. Additionally, Mei contributed to significant postdoctoral research on food-borne bacterial pathogens and their interactions with mycotoxins. Mei holds a PhD in Plant Pathology from China Agricultural University, obtained in 2012.
