Nils Persson has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. From 2013 to 2017, they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology, where they contributed to the field of organic electronics through device fabrication experiments, atomic force microscopy measurements, and image analysis algorithms. During this time, they co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presented at conferences.
In 2017, Nils joined the National Institute of Standards and Technology as an NRC Postdoctoral Fellow. Nils worked in this role until 2019, gaining valuable experience in research and development.

This involved designing systems, developing dashboards and data pipelines, conducting modeling and analysis, implementing IoT solutions, and optimizing ML-based solutions. Nils then moved into the position of Director, Data Science and IT in 2023, where they continue to contribute their expertise in data science and IT management.
Prior to these roles, Nils gained additional experience as a Junior Scientist at the University of Minnesota, a Process Design Consultant at SoWatt LLC, and a Research Intern at First Green Partners. Nils also served as a Polymer Process Intern at Lurgi, Inc. Nils'swork experience began in 2009, when they started as a Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota.

Nils Persson pursued their education in the field of Chemical Engineering. Nils obtained their Bachelor's degree, a B.Ch.E., from the University of Minnesota, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. To further advance their knowledge and expertise, Nils went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Nils completed their PhD in Chemical Engineering at Georgia Tech from 2013 to 2017.
