I manage NatureScot's marine ornithology work. This involves leading the Marine Ornithology team with a focus on:
- Marine bird MPAs (incl. marine and seabird colony SPAs) & PMFs: Overview of SPA Conservation & Management Advice (CMAs), fisheries advice, monitoring, Licensing, HRAs and review of PMFs.
- Marine Enhancement/Restoration - overview of Scottish Seabird Conservation Strategy, Biosecurity for Life work.
- Avian Influenza: Overview of seabird HPAI related work - monitoring, surveillance & guidance
- Triaging and review of non-marine energy casework
- Have my drone pilot's license (GVC and A2 CofC)
>Specific knowledge of seabird tracking and associated data analysis, and land and sea-based survey work.
