Marine Management and Monitoring

The Marine Management and Monitoring team at NatureScot focuses on the protection and sustainable management of Scotland's marine environments. They oversee Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), assess marine ecosystems and activities, and engage with communities and stakeholders to promote conservation efforts. Through data collection and analysis, the team monitors marine biodiversity, informs policy decisions, and supports initiatives aimed at maintaining the health of Scotland’s coastal and marine habitats.
