Irene Bisang is a Senior Researcher and Senior Curator at the Swedish Museum of Natural History, where research focuses on bryophyte reproductive traits and arable bryophyte diversity in relation to agricultural management. Additional roles include Senior Grant Liaison Officer, overseeing international research projects related to Natural History collections, and leading EU projects such as SYNTHESYS. Irene also serves as co-chair of the IUCN SSC Bryophyte Specialist Group and is a member of the reviewer's pool of experts for the National Program Open Science. Previous positions include postdoctoral fellowships and research at the University of Zurich and Stockholms universitet, with a PhD in Botany from the University of Bern.
