John Yamokoski

John Yamokoski has an extensive work experience in the field of robotics and engineering. John is currently the Chief Technology Officer at Nauticus Robotics, Inc. and has been in this role since August 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President of Defense Technology and Sponsored Research at Nauticus Robotics, Inc. from November 2020 to August 2022. John also worked as a Principal Robotics Engineer at Nauticus Robotics, Inc. from April 2015 to November 2020.

Before joining Nauticus Robotics, Inc., John had notable positions at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. John was a Research Scientist at the Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition from October 2014 to April 2015. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Software Architect at the same institute from August 2012 to October 2014. John started their career at NASA as the Controls Lead at Oceaneering Space Systems from August 2010 to August 2012.

John also had work experience at Oceaneering Space Systems as a Senior Engineer from January 2010 to July 2013. John began their professional journey as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Florida from August 2003 to December 2009.

Furthermore, John worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Oceaneering Space Systems and an Engineer at United Space Alliance from 2001 to 2002 and 2000 to 2001, respectively.

John Yamokoski earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, where they attended from 1996 to 1999. John then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Florida from 2003 to 2005. Building on their academic achievements, John continued their education at the University of Florida and completed a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from 2005 to 2009.
