Omid Heidari

Robotics Software Engineer at Nauticus Robotics, Inc.

Omid Heidari has a strong background in robotics and has gained experience in various roles and organizations. Omid currently works as a Robotics Software Engineer at Nauticus Robotics, Inc. since June 2021. Prior to this, they held the position of Visiting Assistant Professor at Idaho State University from January 2020 to May 2021. Omid also worked as a Robotics Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Idaho State University from September 2017 to January 2020. Omid has also served as a Visiting Robotics Researcher at Rice Computer Science Department for a brief period in May 2020, and as a Google Summer of Code 2020 Mentor at PickNik Robotics during the same time. Omid has previous experience at PickNik as an Applied Robotics Scientist and Robotics Intern, where they worked on trajectory optimization and real-time smoothing algorithms. Omid also worked as a Robotics & AR/VR Intern at House of Design Robotics in 2018. Prior to that, they gained research experience as a Research Assistant at Idaho State University, where they focused on various projects related to kinematics, motion planning, exoskeletons, and virtual reality. Omid has a strong academic and professional background in robotics and has contributed to several research projects and organizations.

Omid Heidari attended Noshirvani Institute of Technology from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained a Msc degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, from 2015 to 2019, Omid pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at Idaho State University.
