Oscar Ramirez has been a software engineer for over 20 years. Oscar started their career at Goldman Sachs in August 1998 as a vice president and senior engineer. In this role, they were responsible for managing reference data platforms and distributing reference data to over 600 consumer applications across the firm. Oscar also led the design and implementation of the next generation reference data distribution strategy to secure privacy data across the firm.
In June 2017, Ramirez left Goldman Sachs to join Nava as a senior software engineer. At Nava, they continue to work on reference data platforms and is also responsible for managing developers’ technical and professional development.
Ramirez has been instrumental in reducing the footprint of personal identifiers in reference data stores across the firm and in implementing key metrics across platform which are stored in the firm’s metrics storage platform for performance analysis. Their data analysis has helped pinpoint bottlenecks in processing, allowing for better prioritization of code enhancements. Oscar has also coordinated communication with key consumers across the firm to manage impact of regulatory changes to reference data and the impact to their applications.
Oscar Ramirez has a MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Corporate Finance, a Computer Software Engineering degree from Fullstack Academy, a BA in Economics from Stony Brook University, and a High School Diploma from Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
