Senongo Akpem

VP, Design & Research at Nava

Senongo Akpem is the VP of Design & Research at Nava. Senongo has over 10 years of experience in the design industry, leading and mentoring teams of designers, developing brand standards and digital pattern libraries, and prototyping and testing visual and product solutions.

Senongo Akpem started their design career as a Lead Web Designer at SALA Dean Morgan. Senongo then went on to found their own design studio, Colorcult, where they served as the Lead Designer for 2 years. In 2010, they joined Cambridge University Press as an Art Director, where they led the department in all digital, brand, and print design. In 2015, they joined Constructive as a Design Director, leading interactive and user experience design. Senongo has been with Nava since July 2020.

Akpem's educational career includes a BFA from the University of Michigan in Fine Arts, with a focus in printmaking. Senongo also studied printmaking at Kyoto Seika University.

They are on a team with Zoe Blumenfeld - VP, Communications, Jodi Leo - Chief Delivery Officer, and Ali Glenesk - Software Engineer. Senongo Akpem reports to Rohan Bhobe, CEO and Co-Founder. Some individuals on their team include Hanya Moharram - Designer/Researcher, Monique Baena-Tan - Designer/Researcher, and Lauren Gardner - Senior Designer/Researcher.
