Karen Chambers

Karen Chambers, RN, CCM, CDMS, CTC has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Karen started their career as the Corporate Supervisor of Case Management at ReLife from 1990 to 1993. Karen then worked at GuideStar Health System as the Director of Medical Management and Quality Improvement from 1996 to 2000, where they were responsible for developing and implementing Utilization and Case Management programs.

From 2002 to 2003, Karen served as the National Past President at Case Management Society of America, an association dedicated to supporting and developing the profession of case management.

Karen then joined VIVA Health as the Director of Quality Improvement and Assistant Program Director for the Medicaid Maternity Program from 1999 to 2004, where they helped create the department and worked on Medicaid programs.

Karen then co-founded a healthcare company called Proxsys and served as the Vice President of Operations at athenahealth from 2004 to 2012. Karen played a crucial role in the company's growth, expanding it from one facility in one state to ninety-two facilities in fourteen states.

In 2012, they took on the role of Principal at OnPoint Healthcare Solutions, where they provided independent consulting services in care management and utilization management. Karen also developed training programs for case management, insurance requirements, and hospital revenue programs.

Karen's most recent position is the VP of Clinical Outcomes at naviHealth since December 2012. In this role, they partner with health plans, health systems, and post-acute providers to optimize care and outcomes, reduce hospital readmissions, and increase patient satisfaction through evidence-based protocols and bundled payment methodologies.

Karen Chambers, RN, CCM, CDMS, CTC has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Camberlain College of Nursing and an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Northwest Alabama. Karen also holds additional certifications including Care Transitions Coach from the Eric Coleman Care Transitions Program and certifications in Certified Case Manager (CCM) and Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS) from CCMC.
