Ryan Murphy

As Senior Vice President of Solutions Management, Ryan Murphy is responsible for evolving and enhancing the organization’s solutions to help grow the customer base and improve tools and processes for the clinicians. Ryan has held leadership positions within the Optum business since 2011, starting off in product, innovation, and business development roles and most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Operations for Optum Insight. He joined the naviHealth business (a part of Optum Home & Community Care) in October of 2022. Ryan currently resides in Arlington, VA where he serves on the board of Bridges to Independence, an anti-poverty organization and homeless shelter. He enjoys outdoor cycling, indoor Peloton, and skiing with his wife and two elementary-aged children.

Ryan Murphy is a healthcare executive with 20 years’ experience leading, advising, and managing the growth and operations of healthcare organizations. He serves as Senior Vice President of Operations for Optum providing leadership for workforce management, global strategy, information solutions, and operations management. Ryan’s tenure at Optum has included P&L, business development, product development, and business operations management responsibilities. Prior to joining Optum, Ryan held leadership positions with The Advisory Board Company, Endeavor Health Group, and BearingPoint.

Originally from Philadelphia, Ryan first came to the area for college and earned a bachelors’ degree in government from Georgetown University. Ryan now considers Arlington home, and has been an Arlington resident for over 20 years.
