Dietrich Kuhlmann

Dietrich Kuhlmann has extensive leadership experience in both military and financial sectors, serving as President & CEO and Chief Operating Officer at Navy Federal Credit Union from January 2010 to March 2024, where responsibilities included overseeing operations at multiple locations and setting policies aligned with the corporate vision. As Chief Real Estate Lending Officer, Kuhlmann developed strategies that established Navy Federal as a leading mortgage lender, particularly in VA loans. Prior military experience includes serving as the Director of the Programming Division in the US Navy, where Kuhlmann managed an $800 billion capital allocation process, and as Commander of Submarine Group 9, overseeing the operational success of Pacific Fleet submarines. Kuhlmann holds a BS in General Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an MS in Engineering Management from The Catholic University of America.
