Lucía Díaz Bueno has work experience in various scientific and research roles. Lucía is currently the Head of Drug Discovery at NBD | Nostrum Biodiscovery since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Business Development Officer & Drug discovery Projects Coordinator at the same company from April 2020 to February 2022. Lucía also served as the Scientific Manager at NBD from May 2018 to April 2020.
Before joining NBD, Lucía worked at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Life Sciences Department from June 2014 to May 2018. Lucía also had a role as a Visiting Researcher in the same department from April 2013 to May 2014.
Lucía also has experience outside of the research field. Lucía worked as a Financial and Marketing Franchise Manager at KidsBrain Group from February 2014 to July 2015.
Earlier in their career, Lucía worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Molecular Modeling and Bioinformatics Group at IRB Barcelona from April 2013 to May 2014. Lucía also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the IQAC-CSIC, where they were involved in the synthesis, design, and molecular modeling of alpha-galactosylceramide analogues as NKT cells activators from April 2011 to March 2013. Before that, they were a PhD student at Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) from May 2007 to April 2011 and a Collaboration Grant recipient at Universidad de Salamanca from September 2004 to September 2005.
Lucía also gained research experience during their time as a PhD student at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela from May 2011 to November 2011 and as a Research PhD Intern at Uppsala University from August 2009 to October 2009.
Additionally, they worked as a Researcher PhD Student at Lead Molecular Design, S.L. from January 2009 to July 2009 and as an Organic Chemist (Programa ARGO) at ChemOvation Ltd from March 2006 to March 2007.
Lucía Díaz Bueno completed their education with a degree in Medicinal Chemistry from Universitat de Barcelona. Lucía pursued this degree from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they also obtained a postgraduate degree in Organic Chemistry in the Chemical-Pharmaceutical Industry from the same institution, which they completed from 2006 to 2007. Before their postgraduate studies, Lucía earned their undergraduate degree in Chemistry, specializing in Química, from Universidad de Salamanca. Lucía completed this program from 2000 to 2005.
