Inky Son

VP, Licensing at NBPA

Inky Son is the VP of Licensing at the National Basketball Players Association. Inky has oversight of existing license partners and new business development for the soft goods category. Inky has developed annual business plans and revenue projections as well as presented overall strategic plans and updates to the executive team.

Inky spearhead all aspects of the Players Clubhouse retail program with MLB team stores. The process involved creating surveys for data collection and analysis, managing the GWP program, working with external and internal departments for signage creation and maintaining accurate reporting and budgets associated with the program. Inky also developed and managed promotional events with key retail partners to ignite growth of player products. Promotional activities included player appearances, social media promotions and activations around marquee events (All Star Game, World Series, etc.).

Prior to joining the NBPA, Inky was the Global Licensing Director at Calvin Klein. Inky was responsible for developing and executing licensing strategies in support of the Calvin Klein brand worldwide. Inky also served as the Director of Operations, Sales and Marketing at Twenty8Twelve London Limited where they were responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, operations and finance for the company.

Inky Son completed a BS in BA at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business with a major in marketing and minor in studio art. Inky then completed a data analytics boot camp at Columbia Engineering. After that, they participated in a study abroad program at the University of Sydney. Finally, they received certification from the International Culinary Center in culinary techniques (100 hours, intensive training) and from The Magnet Theater in storytelling | intro and advanced.
