Julia Kraemer Lerche serves as the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Actuary for NC Medicaid since November 2015, with prior roles including Chief Actuary and Policy Advisor. Julia has extensive experience in the field, having worked as a Senior Consulting Actuary at Wakely Consulting Group and as a Health Actuary for the North Carolina Department of Insurance, where contributions included health care reform policy and implementation. Additional experience includes coordination of programs at the NC Office of Rural Health and Community Care and research assistance at the North Carolina Institute of Medicine. Julia's career began at Towers Perrin as a Health and Welfare Consultant and as an Actuarial Associate at Hewitt. Academically, Julia holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Brown University and a Master of Science in Public Health with a focus on Health Policy Analysis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
