Laquana Palmer

LaQuana Palmer, MPA, currently serves as the Deputy Director of Communications and Engagement for NC Medicaid at the NC Department of Health and Human Services since April 2023. Prior experience includes roles as Program Director and Program Manager for NCCARE360 at the Foundation for Health Leadership & Innovation from May 2021 to March 2023. LaQuana's background at the NC Department of Health and Human Services spans from January 2017 to May 2021, including positions as Healthy Opportunities Program Manager and Communications Unit Manager/Public Information Officer. Additional experience includes work as Capacity Building Specialist at SHIFT NC and various public health roles at Wake County Human Services. LaQuana holds a Master of Public Administration from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, along with certificates in Public Health Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and further education at North Carolina State University and the Black AIDS Institute.
