Ellen Cathey Aia

Ellen Cathey, AIA, currently serves as the Senior Manager of Experience & Education at the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) since April 2022. Cathey previously held the position of Associate Director at the National Architectural Accrediting Board from August 2017 to April 2022, and worked as an Architect at Train Architects between October 2014 and December 2015. Cathey has also contributed to the Virginia Society AIA Honors Committee as a member and managed development at the Virginia Center for Architecture. Additional experience includes roles as Director of Communications and Outreach and Associate Dean of Students at the UVA School of Architecture, alongside prior positions as Director of Education at the American Institute of Architects and Editor for the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. Cathey's academic credentials include a BA in English Literature and Business Studies from Indiana University Bloomington and studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
