Thomas Rizzo

Thomas Rizzo is a Professor Emeritus at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), where Thomas has been since January 1994, conducting research in chemical physics and bioanalytical chemistry with a focus on molecular spectroscopy, ion mobility, and mass spectrometry. Rizzo also served as the Dean of the School of Basic Sciences, responsible for faculty hiring, strategic priorities, budget allocation, and external scientific review processes. In addition to their role at EPFL, Rizzo co-founded Isospec Analytics in October 2022, serving as Chief Scientific Officer. Prior experience includes positions as Professor of Chemistry at the University of Rochester and Research Associate at the James Franck Institute, University of Chicago. Education includes a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BS in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
