Hayley James Chart has extensive work experience in the field of communications and public relations. Hayley has held various roles throughout their career, starting in 2003 with FirstGroup PLC as a Press Assistant. From 2005 to 2007, they served as a PR & Communications Officer for the Greater Manchester Criminal Justice Board. Hayley then worked as a Communications and Marketing Manager for the Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust from 2007 to 2010.

In 2010, Hayley joined Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as Deputy Director of Communications, where they managed a team and implemented cost-saving measures. From 2012 to 2014, they worked for The Co-operative Group as a Communications Business Partner, providing strategic support during a period of ongoing issues for the company.

Hayley then joined FirstGroup Plc as Head of Internal Communications for First Bus, leading a team and supporting major business change initiatives. Hayley later became an Assistant Director of Communications, Engagement, and Campaigns for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority in 2019. In this role, they provided strategic oversight for internal and external communications, engagement, and campaign planning.

During their time at The Growth Company from 2022 to 2023, Hayley served as the Marketing and Communications Director, responsible for the brand, communications, and promotional strategy of the company. Hayley successfully implemented several initiatives, including a redesign of the marketing and communications function and a new crisis communications strategy.

Hayley is also an active member of the CIPR - Chartered Institute of Public Relations, serving as a Board Member since 2021. Hayley is currently the Interim Head of Communications and Campaigns for NCT Charity, a position they have held since 2023. Throughout their career, Hayley has showcased their expertise in strategic communications, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement.

Hayley James Chart PR FCIPR has a post-graduate diploma from Manchester Metropolitan University Business School in CIPR, obtained from 2008 to 2009. Prior to that, they attended the University of Central Lancashire from 1999 to 2002, where they earned a 2:2 degree in Journalism. Hayley'ssecondary education took place at Rainhill High School from 1992 to 1999, where they achieved A Levels in Sociology, Business Studies, and English. Additionally, Hayley has additional certifications, including a Fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations obtained in October 2020 and a Chartership from CIPR obtained in July 2016.
