Stacy Hickox is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in academia and legal support roles. Currently serving as Staff Counsel for the National Education Association since March 2024, Stacy provides legal guidance on academic freedom, Title IX, and workplace violence prevention. An associate professor and associate director at Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations for eight years, Stacy taught employment law and focused research on the Americans with Disabilities Act and barriers to employment. Early career experiences include representing persons with disabilities at Disability Rights Michigan and a visiting assistant professorship at Michigan State University College of Law. Stacy holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University.
