Dawid Oosthuizen

Dawid Oosthuizen is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in embedded systems and sensor technologies. Currently serving as the Director of Embedded Systems at Nearmap since August 2016, Dawid has significantly contributed to the development of innovative aerial camera systems, including the design and implementation of HyperCamera3. Prior roles at Nearmap included Principal Engineer and Senior Electronic Systems Engineer, where Dawid played key roles in advancing sensor system capabilities. Before joining Nearmap, Dawid held the position of Senior Engineer at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), leading diverse multidisciplinary projects while managing both technical and managerial responsibilities. Additional experience includes design engineering at Zitera Holdings and computer engineering at Teqcon. Dawid holds a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the University of Pretoria. Additionally, Dawid pursues photography and editing at do profound photography, finding creative fulfillment in this artistic endeavor.
