Aruna Weerakoon

Aruna Weerakoon has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. They started their professional career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2008, where they conducted research until 2010. In 2011, they returned to the University of Nebraska at Omaha as a Graduate Research Assistant once again, this time until 2014. During their time at the university, they also interned at Werner Enterprises in 2012. In 2013, they joined Nebraska Furniture Mart as an Intern-Operations Research Analyst, and then transitioned to various roles within the company, including Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist. Currently, Aruna holds the position of Lead Data Scientist at Nebraska Furniture Mart, starting from September 2022.

Aruna Weerakoon completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Peradeniya from 2001 to 2006. They later pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2007 to 2010.
