Julie Lazure

VP, Operations at Nebraska Medicine

Julie Lazure serves as vice president of operations for Nebraska Medicine. In her role, she provides operational leadership for inpatient acute care, emergency, respiratory therapy and dialysis services.

Lazure has been employed by Nebraska Medicine for more than 30 years. She began her time as a phlebotomist in the lab during nursing school. She earned her nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska, and later earned her master’s degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Her first job after graduating from nursing school was as a staff nurse in the Adult Intensive Care Unit. Lazure would go on to serve in several management roles for inpatient nursing units including, 5 West, Cardiac Progressive Care Unit and the Intermediate Care Unit. In her time with the organization, Lazure also served as director of the Heart and Vascular service line and executive director of Acute Care Services.

She is a current board member for the American Lung Association and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Association of Critical Care Nurses, American Association of Nurse Executives, Nebraska Action Coalition and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
