Thomas Burghout

Thomas Burghout has extensive experience in embedded software engineering, currently working at Nedap Retail since September 2019, focusing on scaling RFID solutions. Prior to this role, Thomas served as a Product Engineer at Avantes, where the design and implementation of an embedded object-oriented hardware abstraction layer in modern C++ were key responsibilities. Additional experience includes an internship at InTraffic, researching Model Based Testing for the Dutch railway system, and an earlier internship at Avantes that involved architectural improvements for the Xilinx Zynq-7000 SoC based spectrometer platform. Thomas began in the field with a role at Eijkelkamp Soil & Water, developing a Bluetooth Low Energy solution for wireless communication with a focus on power efficiency. Thomas holds a Master of Science degree in Computing Science from Radboud University and a bachelor's degree from HAN University of Applied Sciences.
