Paul Gelton

Paul Gelton is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in crisis management, public safety, and strategic advisory roles. Currently serving as Programmadirecteur at the Nederlands Instituut Publieke Veiligheid since April 2023, Paul previously held several leadership positions, including Directeur Veiligheidsregio's Crisisbeheersing and Meldkamer at the Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid from 2018 to 2023, where responsibility encompassed regional safety, crisis management, and information systems. Prior to this, Paul served as Directeur Nationale Veiligheid at the Nationaal Coordinator Terrorismebestrijding en Veiligheid, focusing on enhancing resilience against threats. A background in engineering and consultancy complements Paul's roles in various governmental and military organizations, including significant contributions at Rijkswaterstaat and Koninklijke Marine. Paul holds an MSc in Technische Bedrijfskunde from Eindhoven University of Technology and a BSc in Maritime Management Engineering from the Koninklijk Instituut voor de Marine.
