Kelly Castaños

Kelly Castaños has a diverse work experience starting with their current role as an Associate Full Stack Developer at Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at Resilient Coders from March 2022 to August 2022, where they built responsive websites using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend development and utilized Node.js, React, and MongoDB for backend development.

Before transitioning into the tech industry, Kelly held various positions at the State of Rhode Island. From March 2021 to March 2022, they worked as a Legal Assistant at the RI Department of Revenue - Central Collections Unit, playing a key role in maximizing the department's contribution to the state's general fund. Kelly served as a liaison between taxpayers, attorneys, and collection agencies and assisted in court brief filings and document preparation.

Prior to their role as a Legal Assistant, Kelly worked as an Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff from June 2020 to March 2021. In this position, they coordinated communications, managed calendars, and maintained confidentiality for important documents. Before that, they briefly served as a Constituent Services Representative in May 2020 and as an Executive Assistant to the Senior Deputy Chief of Staff from January 2020 to May 2020.

Kelly's first experience at the State of Rhode Island was as a Constituent Services Representative Intern from July 2019 to January 2020. During this time, they developed a deep understanding of state government, acted as a liaison between citizens and state agencies, and managed a high volume of calls and emails. Kelly also utilized the 'IQ' system to input calls and cases for accurate assistance.

Kelly Castaños completed the Year Up program in 2020, where they studied Business Operations Support and Assistant Services. In addition, they obtained a certification as a HDI Support Center Analyst from HDI in June 2019. Kelly also obtained the certification of "Become a Junior WordPress Developer" from LinkedIn in September 2022.
