Eric Severson

Eric Severson is the EVP and Chief People Officer at Neiman Marcus Group. Eric was previously the Chief People Officer at DaVita Inc. from March 2017 to September 2019. At DaVita, they were responsible for the $40M budget & 375-person People Services Team, including people strategy, insights & analytics, operations, compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, talent management, talent strategy & branding, teammate experience, teammate relations, and teammate support center. Eric was also a member of the executive leadership team and the Create A Special Place Executive Committee & People Technology Executive Committee.

Under Severson's leadership, DaVita saw many achievements, including an improved People Services Net Promoter Score (NPS) by +54 points from -44 in 2017 to +10 in 2018, improved Voice of the Customer (VOC) scores across every service category (Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Teammate Relations, etc.) by up to 15 points vs. 2017, and achievement of top quartile Teammate Engagement (83.4%) vs. healthcare benchmark & Teammate Retention 10 points above healthcare average. In 2018, DaVita also launched Bridge To Your Dreams, the first fully funded tuition program in F500 healthcare guaranteeing a promotion upon graduation, and Nurse Gateway, a first-of-its-kind mobile platform for RNs combining social media, recognition, professional development, and career pathing into over 40 roles across multiple modalities. Additionally, Severson automated corrective action process enterprise-wide, reducing case time-to-close by 66% and achieving an NPS of 90.

In 2017, Severson built DaVita's first-ever 3-Year People Strategy and aligned the People Services Operating Model with Strategy while also implementing a new People Services Governance Model.

Eric Severson received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English Language and Literature/Letters from Penn State University. Eric then went on to earn a Master's Degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Arizona State University.
