Damon Hamel

Damon Hamel is an accomplished biochemist with extensive experience in research and development within the pharmaceutical industry. Currently serving as Director of Research Biology at Nektar Therapeutics since December 2018, Damon has previously held the role of Principal Scientist at Janssen Inc., where responsibilities included project leadership and the development of in vitro cellular assays. Earlier career experiences include a postdoctoral position at UCSD focusing on chemokines and GPCRs. Damon holds a PhD in Biochemistry from UC Santa Barbara, a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Oregon, and a BS in General Science from the same institution.
