Kathy B.

Kathy B.'s work experience begins in 1990 as a student researcher at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Kathy then pursued a graduate degree at Indiana University, where they worked as a graduate student until 2000. Following that, Kathy was a postdoctoral fellow at Washington University School of Medicine, conducting research on DNA binding proteins.

In 2004, they joined Divergence, Inc. as a Scientist, overseeing biochemistry efforts, training and managing research associates, and establishing collaborations resulting in peer-reviewed publications. Kathy also communicated research findings and participated in writing grants, patents, and publications.

In 2006, Kathy joined Gilead Sciences, initially as a Research Scientist and later as a Senior Research Scientist. In these roles, they participated in project teams supporting various research areas and was responsible for space planning and capital procurement. Kathy also founded the Gilead Mass Spec community, a scientific community facilitating the exchange of ideas.

Since 2019, Kathy has been working at Nektar Therapeutics.
