Serafina Fortiner

Serafina Fortiner is an experienced chemical engineer currently serving as an Industry Affiliate at Berkeley Lab, where efforts focus on facilitating research collaboration between Nel Hydrogen and LBL. At Nel Hydrogen, responsibilities include analyzing field-tested components to understand failure mechanisms, leading the implementation of Python for data processing that has significantly reduced processing time, coordinating testing of next-generation electrolyzer components, and performing internal ISO audits for process compliance. Previous roles include a Graduate Researcher at the University of Oregon, where collaboration with De Nora focused on improving alkaline electrolysis efficiency, and an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Montana State University-Bozeman, where modeling in Python was developed. Fortiner holds a Master of Science in Electrochemistry from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman.
