Thorsten Herbert

Thorsten Herbert has significant experience in the field of hydrogen energy and infrastructure. Currently, they serve as the Director of Market Development and Public Affairs at Nel Hydrogen. Thorsten is also a Member of the Board of Directors at Brintbranchen. In addition, Thorsten is an Executive Board Member at HYDROGENi, a Norwegian Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research. Thorsten was previously the Chairman of the German-Norwegian Working Group Hydrogen at AHK Norwegen / Deutsch-Norwegische Handelskammer. Prior to their current roles, Thorsten held positions at NOW GmbH as the Divisional Head of Transport and Infrastructure and as a Programme Manager in Transport. Thorsten also worked as a Lead System Engineer at GM Powertrain Deutschland GmbH and as a Development Engineer at Bertrandt. Thorsten Herbert has a strong background in the field of hydrogen energy and has contributed significantly to its development and cooperation between countries.

Thorsten Herbert obtained their first degree, Diplom-Ingenieur (Dipl.Ing.), in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität Darmstadt. Thorsten studied at this institution from 1994 to 2001. After a gap in their education, they pursued further studies and completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Renewable Energies from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. This degree was obtained between 2011 and 2015.
