Sally Otis

Sally Otis is the current Director of Interpretation and Adult Programs at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, a position held since May 2024. With extensive experience in museum education and interpretation, Sally has served as an Independent Consultant since May 2020, focusing on interpretive and exhibition planning for the Williams College Museum of Art. Previously, Sally held roles such as Interpretation Manager and Docent Manager at the Joslyn Art Museum, where responsibilities included overseeing transitions to in-person tours and conducting docent training. Other notable positions include Director of Education at Fontenelle Forest, Family Programs Manager at the National Building Museum, and Education Specialist at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Sally's academic background includes a Master of Arts in Museum Education from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Drake University.
