Takuma Kaneshima

Takuma Kaneshima, Ph.D., currently serves as the Manager of Research and Technology Development at Nelumbo, a Kuraray Company, since August 2025. Prior to this role, Kaneshima held various managerial positions at 株式会社クラレ, including Manager of the Nelumbo Business Department, Manager of the Incubation Department, and Manager of Poval Research and Development, from January 2022 to September 2025. Previously, Kaneshima worked as a Technical Service and Development Engineer at Kuraray America, Inc. from August 2019 to January 2022 and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University from August 2016 to August 2019. Kaneshima's career began at Kuraray, where experiences included roles in Poval Research and Development and Corporate Research and Development from April 2010 to August 2019. Education includes a Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University (2016-2019), an MS in Polymer Chemistry from Kyoto University (2008-2010), and a BS in Polymer Chemistry from Kyoto University (2004-2008).
