Mofonase Hoohlo-Sakoane has diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Mofonase began their career in 1987 as a Chemical Analyst for the Mines and Geology Department of the Government of Lesotho, where they were responsible for analyzing geological field samples and issuing geological analysis reports. In 1989, they worked as a Pharmacy student on vacation placement at the Lesotho Dispensary Association (LDA), where they gained experience in various departments such as production, quality control, and quarantine. Mofonase continued to work at LDA until 1994, performing general pharmacy duties at LESMED Pharmacy during specific periods.
In 1994, Mofonase worked as an Intern Pharmacist at Karawara Pharmacy in Perth, Australia. Mofonase then became a pharmacist at Allied Pharmacy and Husteds Pharmacy from 1995 to 1997. Mofonase briefly joined the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Government of Lesotho in 1998 as a Committee Member for the National Health Policy draft document.
In 1998, Mofonase worked as a Pharmacist at Maseru Private Hospital, specializing in providing pharmaceutical services. In 2000, they became the Pharmacist and Owner of MHS Pharmacy, where they offered various services such as pharmacy, health and wellness, and vacuflex massage. Mofonase was also a distributor of GNLD/Neolife products.
Mofonase's extensive experience in the pharmacy field led to their role as a Network Marketing Professional at NeoLife International in 2005. Mofonase then transitioned into a career in politics, serving as an Honorary Councillor for ED 06 at the Maseru Municipal Council (MMC) from 2011 to 2017. In 2012, they became the Mayor of Maseru at the Maseru Municipal Council, serving from 2012 to 2013.
Mofonase Hoohlo-Sakoane started their education at Hoohlo Primary School from 1970 to 1977, where they obtained their Primary School-leaving Certificate. Mofonase then attended St Catherine's College from 1978 to 1982 to acquire their Matric Certificate, which provided their with High School qualifications.
In 1983, Mofonase enrolled in the National University of Lesotho and pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree with majors in Maths and Chemistry. Mofonase completed their undergraduate studies in 1987. During their time at the National University of Lesotho, Mofonase also participated in a Student Exchange Program in 1984 and 1985, earning a Nominee degree.
Moving forward, in 1989, Mofonase pursued a B.Pharm degree at Curtin University, specializing in Pharmacy, and successfully completed their studies in 1994. Mofonase'seducational journey continued in 2015 at Effective Counselling Services, where they earned an Associate Degree in Counselling in 2016.
Additionally, in June 2016, Mofonase received certification as a Sign Language Interpreter from the National Association of the Deaf Lesotho (NADL).
