Desmond Tay

Desmond Tay is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in trade, innovation, and climate strategy. Currently serving as the Director of Commercial Enterprise at NEOM since August 2022, Desmond oversees initiatives aimed at establishing NEOM as a global trade and innovation hub. Prior roles include Deputy Director of Innovation and Enterprise at A*STAR, where value was created in the agency's development efforts, and Regional Group Director & Commercial Consul at Enterprise Singapore, focusing on international trade and supporting the global expansion of Singapore-based companies. Additional experience encompasses positions at the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (Singapore), and the Singapore Mission to the World Trade Organisation, emphasizing climate policy, trade diplomacy, and free trade agreements. Desmond holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia SIPA and a Master of Engineering with First Class Honours from UCL.
