Peter Illich has a diverse work experience. peter started their career as an intern at AIT - Austrian Institute of Technology in 2013. peter later worked as a Development Engineer at crystalsol from 2014 to 2017. From 2017 to 2020, they served as a Guest Researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and as a Researcher/Lecturer & Project Manager at Fachhochschule Technikum Wien. During this time, they focused on renewable energy systems and user-centered energy systems. In 2015, Peter also worked as a Board of Directors Administrative Assistant at TPPV - Technologieplattform Photovoltaik Österreich. In 2017, they became an Operating Agent of IEA PVPS Task 15 phase 2 and a Participating Expert in IEA PVPS Task 15. peter contributed to the development of processes, methods, and tools for the implementation of BIPV. From 2021 to 2022, they worked as a Programme Manager Energy & Environment at FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH. Currently, Peter is a Product Manager at neoom, where they are involved in the energy transition and the generation of energy from sustainable sources.

Peter Illich has a diverse education history in the fields of engineering, architecture, and urbanism. peter began their education in 2004 at HTL Waidhofen/Ybbs, where they studied automation engineering until 2009. In 2010, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Renewable Energy Technologies at Fachhochschule Technikum Wien, completing it in 2013. During the same period, they also studied at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, specializing in Elektrotechnik und Elektronik, and received their Bachelor of Science in 2013. In 2014, they engaged in a brief study at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, focusing on architecture and urbanism at the master's level. Finally, from 2015 to 2017, Peter pursued a Master of Science in Engineering (MSc) with a specialization in Renewable Urban Energy Systems at Fachhochschule Technikum Wien.
