Kelly Black has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. In 1987, they worked at the Smithsonian Institution as a Survey Statistician, where they developed studies to assess member, visitor, and exhibit needs. From 1989 to 1991, they worked at the Air Line Pilots Association as an Actuary. In 1994, they joined Neptune and Company as President and Environmental Statistician. In 2009, they became a Lead Assessor & Trainer at the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA). Lastly, in 2015, they took on the role of Chair at the ISO Technical Committee 69 - Application of Statistical Methods.
Kelly Black earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics with a focus on Economics and Sociology from Montana State University-Bozeman in 1986. Following that, Kelly completed a Master of Science degree in Statistics at Carnegie Mellon University from 1986 to 1987.
