Richard Tan Boon Cheong

Richard Tan Boon Cheong has an extensive work experience history, primarily in the telecommunications industry. Richard started their career with Nera Telecommunications Ltd as a Sales Manager in 1995 and later became a Sales & Marketing Manager at ECI Telecom in 2000. In 2001, they joined Alcatel as a Sales Director, where they remained until 2006. Richard then held the position of Sales Director at Thomson Asia Pacific Holdings from 2006 to 2008, followed by a role as Business Development Director at GN Netcom in 2008. In 2009, they became the Regional Sales Director for South East Asia at Alvarion Singapore Pte Ltd. Richard joined Nera Telecommunications Ltd again in 2011 as the VP of Transmission, a position they held until 2017. From 2017 to 2018, they served as the Managing Director at Enetek Power Asia Pte Ltd. Finally, in 2019, Richard became the Vice President of Sales at Nera Telecommunications Ltd, leading a team of regional resources and managing subsidiaries in MENA.

Richard Tan Boon Cheong attended the University of Arkansas from 1991 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Systems Engineering. Prior to that, from 1981 to 1985, they studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at Singapore Polytechnic.
