Sean Thornton

Lead Software Engineer at Nerd United

Sean Thornton has a diverse work experience starting from 2010 to the present. Sean worked as a System Administrator for Brigham Young University where they provided technical support for faculty and maintained the department's servers and virtual environment. In 2013, Sean joined Anglepoint Inc. as a Consultant, working with clients to optimize their software assets, managing data collection and processing, and helping design and build web applications. Sean then worked at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a Software Engineer, where they worked on agile teams, designing and building web applications for processing video broadcasts and live events. Sean then joined Owlet Baby Care as a Software Engineer, focusing on building and designing new backend services using technologies like Python, Docker, and Google Cloud Services. Sean then returned to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a Senior Software Engineer, leading projects, designing and building web applications, and working with Angular and ASP technologies. Currently, Sean works at Nerd United as a Lead Software Engineer.

Sean Thornton obtained a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from Brigham Young University, which they attended from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's of Science in Management Information Systems, General from the same university, completing their studies from 2010 to 2015. In addition to their degrees, Sean Thornton has also obtained several certifications from Microsoft, including MCSE: Productivity in September 2016, MCPS: Microsoft Certified Professional in June 2015, and MCSE: Messaging in August 2015.
