Tarun Kapoor

Dr. Tarun Kapoor is a scientific advisor for Nested Therapeutics. He is a faculty member in the David Rockefeller Graduate Program and the Tri-Institutional Ph.D. Program in Chemical Biology, where he also serves as Program Co-Director. He is head of the Selma and Lawrence Ruben Laboratory of Chemistry and Cell Biology at The Rockefeller University, which studies the molecular mechanisms required for accurate propagation of genetic material during cell division, with the goal of developing new therapies to treat cancer. Research in the lab has two areas of focus: discovering and developing new tools to probe protein function and using them to dissect dynamic cellular processes such as cytoskeleton organization and cell division. Tarun has earned many accolades for his work, including the Irving Sigal Young Investigator Award from The Protein Society, a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Scholar Award, and recognition as a Pew Fellow in the Biomedical Sciences. Tarun received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard and completed his postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School.
