Shawn Pate has a long and varied work experience, beginning with a role as a Field Engineer at ILT/ICRAS in 1997. In 2001, they became President of Savannah IT Associates. Shawn then moved to Seimitsu in 2008 as Managing Director. In 2009, they took on a role as a Consultant at EveryNetwork, and in 2011, they became an Account Manager at WorkSmart IT. Most recently, in 2018, they became a Customer Success Manager at Net Friends, Inc. Prior to their civilian career, Shawn Pate served in the United States Navy from 1992-1997 as a Personnelman, stationed at VF-154 in Atsugi, Japan and forward deployed on the Aircraft Carrier USS Independence CV-62. Shawn later changed their duty station to Chancellorsville CG-62 Aegis Class Guided Missile Cruiser.

Shawn Pate has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix, which they obtained from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they attended Cape Cod Community College from 1996 to 1998 and Texas A&M University-Central Texas from 1994 to 1996, both for Information Technology. Shawn also attended the University of Maryland from 1993 to 1994 for Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology. In addition, they have obtained certifications from CompTIA and Apple, including Network+, Apple Mobility Technical Competency, and Apple Consultant.
