Buddhika Kalupahana

Buddhika Kalupahana has a diverse and extensive work experience in the software development field. Buddhika started their career as a Trainee Software Engineer at Sabre Technologies (Pvt) Ltd in 2006, followed by a role as a Software Engineer at UTAP Solutions, LLC in 2007. In 2008, they joined Teamwork Technology (pvt) Ltd as a Software Engineer.

In 2011, Buddhika joined Exilesoft (Pvt) Limited as a Software Engineer. Later that year, they also started working at Media Defined, Inc as a Senior Software Engineer. At Media Defined, their responsibilities included designing solution architectures, software development, and software system support.

Throughout their career at Media Defined, Buddhika held various roles with increasing responsibilities. Buddhika served as a Technical Lead in the development team, providing technical consultation and designing software components in multiple software systems using .Net technology stack, mobile applications, and conducting research and development in AI and Cloud technologies. Buddhika was also involved in designing and developing custom .net applications for the netexam system.

In 2021, Buddhika assumed the role of Deputy Head of Development at Media Defined. In this position, they are responsible for the development and delivery of customized systems to Netexam clients in the e-Learning domain.

Buddhika Kalupahana completed their education in a chronological order. Buddhika began their education at Sri Sumngala College in Panadura, Sri Lanka, where they obtained their GCE O/L degree between 1988 and 1998. Buddhika then pursued higher education at Royal College Colombo and completed their GCE A/L in the field of A/L Science from 1999 to 2001.

Following their secondary education, Kalupahana attended the University of Moratuwa, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (B.Sc(Hons)) from 2004 to 2008. Buddhika furthered their education at the same institution and pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Cloud Computing from 2015 to 2019.

In addition to their academic achievements, Kalupahana has obtained additional certifications to enhance their qualifications. Buddhika received the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certification from Microsoft in February 2008. In September 2022, they obtained the Verified International Academic Qualifications certification from the World Education Services.
