Serdar Cellat

Serdar Cellat, PhD, is a seasoned expert in machine learning and artificial intelligence with extensive experience leading innovative projects across prominent companies. Currently serving as a Machine Learning Manager at Netflix, Serdar previously held the position of Applied Science Manager at Amazon, where leadership involved tackling web scale multimodal information retrieval challenges. As a founding and lead engineer at Y Meadows, Serdar directed the development of AI solutions to enhance customer service operations. An accomplished instructor, Serdar has taught machine learning and data science at prestigious institutions such as MIT and the University of Texas at Austin. Earlier roles at Liberty Mutual Insurance included leading collaborations with the MIT CSAIL and implementing deep learning NLP systems that achieved significant operational savings. Serdar obtained a PhD in Applied Mathematics/Machine Learning, complemented by a Graduate Minor in Statistics from Florida State University.
